Shane Jennings (born 8 July 1981) is a former professional rugby union player from Ireland. He played as an openside flanker. Shane was a key player for Leinster Rugby and also represented the Irish national team. He was also part of the St Mary's College club.

Shane Jennings' Rugby Journey
Shane Jennings started his professional rugby career with Leinster Rugby in Ireland. He played very well, especially during the 2004–05 Heineken Cup season. His strong performances caught the eye of other teams.
Playing for Leicester Tigers
In 2005, Shane decided to move to England. He joined Leicester Tigers, another top rugby club. While playing for Leicester, he helped them win the English Premiership in 2007. He even scored a try in the final match!
Returning to Leinster
After two successful years in England, Shane returned to Leinster Rugby in 2007. He signed a new contract to play for them for three more years. His return was a great success for Leinster. He helped them win the Magners League in 2008. He also played a big part in Leinster winning the Heineken Cup in 2009. Shane continued to play for Leinster until he retired at the end of the 2014–15 season.
Playing for Ireland
Shane Jennings also had the chance to play for his country. He earned his first cap for the Irish national team on 2 June 2007. This was during a summer tour to Argentina.
World Cup Experience
Shane was not originally chosen for the 2011 Rugby World Cup squad. However, he got a call-up after another player, David Wallace, got injured. He joined the team and played in the World Cup. During a match against Russia, he scored his only international try. Shane played a total of 13 matches for Ireland. His last international game was against Scotland in the 2012 Six Nations tournament.

Shane Jennings grew up in Knocklyon, a place in Dublin, Ireland. He later moved to Rathfarnham.
He also focused on his education. Shane earned a degree in Business Studies from Portobello College. Later, he completed an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from the Dublin Business School.
