Shane Jennings (born 8 July 1981) is a former professional rugby union player from Ireland. He played as an openside flanker. Shane was a key player for Leinster Rugby and also represented the Irish national team. He also played for St Mary's College.
Club Career Highlights
Shane Jennings started his professional career with Leinster Rugby. He played well during the 2004–05 Heineken Cup season. Another team, Leicester Tigers, noticed his talent.
In 2006, Shane joined Leicester Tigers. He helped them win the English Premiership in 2007. He even scored a try in the final match.
Shane returned to Leinster in 2007. With Leinster, he won the Magners League in 2008. He also helped them win the European Cup in 2009. Shane Jennings retired from rugby at the end of the 2014–15 season.
Playing for Ireland
Shane Jennings also played for his country, Ireland. It was tough to get a spot on the national team. This was because there were many other great players in his position.
He earned his first cap for Ireland on 2 June 2007. This was during a tour to Argentina. He later joined the Ireland A team.
Shane was called up for the 2011 Rugby World Cup. This happened after another player, David Wallace, got injured. During the World Cup, Shane scored his only international try against Russia. He played 13 times for Ireland in total. His last international game was in the 2012 Six Nations against Scotland.

Life Outside Rugby
Shane Jennings grew up in Knocklyon, a place in County Dublin, Ireland. He later moved to Rathfarnham.
He also focused on his education. Shane earned a degree in Business Studies from Portobello College. Later, he completed an MBA from the Dublin Business School.
