Shanyder Borgelin's Football Journey
Shanyder Borgelin started his football career playing for youth teams. He joined the Philadelphia Union academy in 2017, which is a special training program for young, talented players.
Early Club Experience
In 2019, Shanyder played as an amateur for a team called Bethlehem Steel FC. This team was part of the USL Championship, a professional league in the United States. He played 23 games for them and scored one goal.
Later, in February 2022, Shanyder joined Inter Miami CF II. This team is like a stepping stone for young players hoping to join the main Inter Miami CF team. He played 30 games for them and scored 15 goals, showing his skill as a forward.
Playing for Inter Miami CF
On February 16, 2023, Shanyder signed a special contract with the main Inter Miami CF team, which plays in Major League Soccer (MLS). This is the top football league in the United States and Canada. He was signed as a "homegrown player," which means he came up through the club's youth system.
Just a few days later, on February 25, he made his first appearance for Inter Miami CF. He came into the game as a substitute and scored his very first MLS goal! His goal helped his team win 2–0 against CF Montréal.
Loan to New Mexico United
Later in 2023, on August 16, Shanyder went on loan to New Mexico United. A "loan" means he played for a different team for a short time, but he was still officially a player for Inter Miami CF. He played 10 games for New Mexico United during this loan period.
Moving to Denmark
On August 8, 2024, Shanyder Borgelin moved to Europe! He was sold to Vendsyssel FF, a club in Denmark that plays in the Danish First Division. This was a big step in his career, moving to play football in a new country.
Playing for His Country
Shanyder Borgelin also plays for his country, Haiti. He made his first appearance for the Haiti national team on September 1, 2021, in a friendly game against Bahrain. He has also played for the Haiti U20 team.
