Sharpe's Christmas is a collection of exciting short stories by the famous writer Bernard Cornwell. He started thinking about these stories way back in the 1980s. This book features two adventures of his popular hero, Richard Sharpe. It was released in 2003 by The Sharpe Appreciation Society. The money raised from the book helped support The Bernard and Judy Cornwell Foundation.

The book contains two stories that happen at different times. Because of this, the author decided not to give it a number in the main Sharpe book series.

What's Inside Sharpe's Christmas?

This book contains two short stories: "Sharpe's Christmas" and "Sharpe's Ransom". Bernard Cornwell first wrote these stories for a British newspaper called the Daily Mail. They were published in parts during the Christmas seasons of 1994 and 1995. Later, the author made them longer to include them in this special collection.

The Story of Sharpe's Christmas

This story takes place in 1813, near the end of the Peninsular War. This was a big war where British and allied forces fought against Napoleon's French army in Spain and Portugal. In the timeline of the Sharpe books, this adventure happens after the events in Sharpe's Regiment.

The Story of Sharpe's Ransom

"Sharpe's Ransom" is set in a time of peace, after the famous Battle of Waterloo. This battle, where Napoleon was finally defeated, is described in the book Sharpe's Waterloo. This story gives readers a peek into Sharpe's life in Normandy, France, where he lives with his wife, Lucille.
