Shimako Satō (佐藤嗣麻子, Satō Shimako) was born in 1964 in Japan. She is a very talented Japanese film director and screenwriter. This means she both directs movies and writes the stories for them.

She is famous for directing films like Eko Eko Azarak: Wizard of Darkness (1995) and K-20: Legend of the Mask (2008). Her husband, Takashi Yamazaki, is also a well-known filmmaker.

Shimako Satō's Journey in Film

Shimako Satō was born in Iwate Prefecture, Japan. She first studied art and design at the Asagaya College of Art and Design. Later, she traveled to London to learn more about filmmaking. She attended the London International Film School.

Her movie Wizard of Darkness was released in 1995. It was a big success! The film won a special award called the Minami Toshiko Award. This happened at the 1995 Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival.
