Shinji Fujiyoshi (born April 3, 1970) is a Japanese football manager and former player. He was born in Machida, Tokyo, Japan. Shinji Fujiyoshi played as a forward during his career. He is currently the manager of Fukui United.

Shinji Fujiyoshi's Playing Career

Shinji Fujiyoshi started his football journey in 1989. He joined a team called Yomiuri, which later became Verdy Kawasaki. Even though he played many games as a forward, it became harder for him to get playing time. This was because of famous Japan national team players like Kazuyoshi Miura and Nobuhiro Takeda.

In July 1996, Fujiyoshi moved to Kyoto Purple Sanga. He played regularly there for a while. However, from 1998, his chances to play started to decrease again.

In 2000, he joined J2 League club Vegalta Sendai. Here, he became a regular player once more. His strong play helped the club get promoted to the top division, the J1 League, in 2002.

After his time in Japan, Shinji Fujiyoshi moved to China in 2003. He joined a team called Chengdu F.C.. In 2004, he came back to Japan. He joined FC Ryukyu, a team in the Japanese Prefectural Leagues. This club also saw success with him. They were promoted to the Japanese Regional Leagues in 2005 and then to the Japan Football League (JFL) in 2006.

In 2007, he moved to another Regional Leagues club, New Wave Kitakyushu. This team also earned a promotion to the JFL in 2008. Shinji Fujiyoshi retired from playing football at the end of the 2009 season.

Shinji Fujiyoshi's Managerial Career

After his playing days, Shinji Fujiyoshi began a new chapter as a football manager. On January 7, 2022, he was officially named the coach of Fukui United. His main goal was to help the team get promoted to the Japan Football League (JFL) in 2023.

By October 30, 2022, his team finished 3rd in their group in the Japanese regional league. This meant they did not move on to the championship round that year. He continues to manage Fukui United.
