Meet the Characters
The show features five special toy characters. Each toy has its own song and goes on adventures in storybooks.
- Stuffy – A soft, square toy with orange hair. It has a pocket on its back.
- Mo Mo – A friendly girl robot with a head and arms that can move.
- Miss Mouse – A cute knitted mouse wearing a red dotted headband.
- Tom – A boy rag doll with brown hair.
- Teddington - A teddy bear wearing a green waistcoat and a black bow-tie.
Other Cartoon Friends
In the first series, a cartoon called Penelope was shown. It was about a cute blue koala. Later, Penelope became its own TV show!
The second series featured another cartoon called Uki. This little yellow character showed feelings through laughs and smiles. Just like Penelope, Uki also got its own TV series later on.
How the Show Works
The show takes place high up in a tower! Each episode begins with a trip up a ten-story lift. A child's voice counts from one to ten as you go up. When you reach the top, you enter Chris and Pui's amazing playroom. It's a magical world full of fun and games!
Episode Themes
Every show focuses on two different things. These two things form the episode's title. For example, an episode might be called "Granddads and Glasses." A child will ask, "Show me show me granddads!" Then, Chris and Pui explore these items. They use videos, songs, and fun activities. Children also share their own experiences about the items.
Many episodes include a song about one of the toy characters. Sometimes, Chris or Pui will read a story. These stories are all about the adventures of the toys.
The Shop Segment
Most episodes also have a special shop scene. If Chris is running the shop, Pui comes in dressed as different nursery rhyme characters. She might be the Grand Old Duke of York or Little Bo Peep. She could also be the Incy Wincy Spider or Little Miss Muffet. Other times, she's Old MacDonald, Granny Humpty, or Twinkle the star.
If Pui is running the shop, Chris enters as a different character. He might be Humpty Dumpty or the Hey Diddle cow. He could also be Jack from "Jack and Jill". Sometimes he's Pat the Baker or Wee Willie Winkie.
The show's style is a bit like Play School. That was a popular BBC show from the 1960s, 70s, and 80s.
Episode Information
The first series had 40 episodes. It started on July 6, 2009, with "Faces and Flowers." The second series also had 40 episodes. It began on September 6, 2010, with "Flying and Monkeys." The third series had 25 episodes. It started on June 6, 2011, with "Surprises and Peacocks."
