The Sickle of Minamá (in Spanish, Hoz de Minamá) is a very deep valley located in southwestern Colombia. It stretches across parts of the Nariño and Cauca areas. This valley was formed by the Patía River as it makes its way to the Pacific Ocean. It is also a key part of the upper Patía River valley.

What is the Sickle of Minamá?

The Sickle of Minamá is a remarkable natural feature. It sits about 380 to 400 meters (around 1,247 to 1,312 feet) above sea level. This valley is incredibly deep, going down more than 1 kilometer (over 0.6 miles). It also stretches for about 60 kilometers (nearly 37 miles) in length.
