Sir Edward O'Brien, 4th Baronet (born April 17, 1773 – died March 13, 1837) was an important Irish politician. He served in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, which is like a main law-making group, from 1802 to 1826.

Early Life and Family Background

Edward O'Brien was the son of Sir Lucius O'Brien, 3rd Baronet and Anne French. When his father passed away in 1795, Edward became the 4th Baronet. A "Baronet" is a special title, like a knight, that can be passed down in a family.

Edward also took over his father's place in the Parliament of Ireland. He represented the area of Ennis from 1795 until 1801. This was when Ireland and Great Britain joined together, an event known as the Union.
