Sir Henry Bouverie Paulet St John-Mildmay was born in 1810. His parents were Sir Henry St John-Mildmay, 4th Baronet, and Charlotte Bouverie. When his father passed away in 1848, Henry inherited the title of Baronet.
In 1851, Sir Henry married Helena Shaw Lefevre. Her father was Charles Shaw-Lefevre, who was known as the 1st Viscount Eversley. Lady St John-Mildmay passed away in 1897. Sir Henry and Lady Helena had seven children together. Sadly, two of their daughters passed away when they were young.

Military and Public Service
Sir Henry had an interesting career in the military. He joined the 2nd Dragoon Guards, which was a cavalry unit in the British Army. He rose through the ranks and became a Major before he left the regular army.
Later, he continued his service by leading the North Hampshire Yeomanry. This was a local volunteer army group. He was first their Commanding Officer and then became their Honorary Colonel.
Besides his military roles, Sir Henry also served his county in important public positions. In 1862, he was the High Sheriff of Hampshire. This was a very old and respected role, often involving local law and order. He was also a Deputy Lieutenant for Hampshire, which meant he helped represent the Crown in the county.
Later Life and Legacy
Sir Henry Bouverie Paulet St John-Mildmay lived a long life. He passed away at his home, Dogmersfield Park, on July 16, 1902. After his death, his eldest son, Henry Paulet St John-Mildmay, inherited the Baronet title.
