In 1776, he expanded his business by starting a bank in London. He founded this bank with two partners, John Halliday and William Mackworth Praed.

His Political Career

Besides his business ventures, Sir John Duntze was also involved in politics. He became a Member of Parliament (MP) for the area of Tiverton. He served as an MP for a long time, from 1768 until his death in 1795. This meant he helped make laws and represent the people of Tiverton in the House of Commons.

In 1774, he was given a special title: Baronet. This title is passed down through families and means he was recognized for his contributions to society.
