Sligo, Ohio facts for kids
Sligo is a small, unincorporated community located in Adams Township, Clinton County, Ohio, in the United States. Being "unincorporated" means it's not officially a city or town with its own local government, but rather a group of homes and businesses within a larger township.
History
Sligo got its name from the famous Sligo Iron Works, a company in Pittsburgh that made iron products. In the 1800s, blacksmiths (people who worked with metal) really liked the iron from Sligo Iron Works.
A post office was opened in Sligo in 1844, which means people could send and receive mail right there in the community. This post office stayed open for many years, until 1865.
