Sonja "Soni" Malaj (born October 23, 1981), also known simply as Soni, is an Albanian singer, songwriter, and dancer.
About Soni Malaj
Soni Malaj was born on October 23, 1981, in Tropojë, Albania. Her full name is Sonja Malaj. She lived in Tropojë until she was 9 years old. After that, her family moved to Tirana, where Soni began her journey as a singer.
Music Career and TV Shows
Soni has taken part in many music competitions. In 2006, she competed in "Top Fest". She also came in second place at Kënga Magjike with the song "Fluturimi 3470", which she sang with Flori Mumajesi.
After the Eurovision Song Contest 2007, some people thought that the winning song "Molitva" sounded like Soni Malaj's song "Ndarja". Soni Malaj also won "Top Fest 11" later on.
Soni Malaj has also been a judge on the Albanian TV show X Factor. She was a judge for the second, third, and sixth seasons of the show.
In 2018, Soni tried to represent Albania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. She sang her song "Më e fortë" at the 57th Festivali i Këngës and finished in fifth place. In 2021, she was chosen to compete in the 22nd edition of Kënga Magjike.
