Southcoast Health System facts for kids
Southcoast Health is a group of three hospitals that work together. They are all found in the southeastern part of Massachusetts. This organization started in June 1996. By December 2021, over 7,500 people worked for Southcoast Health across all its locations. They help many people get the care they need.

Southcoast Health includes three main hospitals. Each one serves its local community. These hospitals are Charlton Memorial Hospital, St. Luke's Hospital, and Tobey Hospital.
Charlton Memorial Hospital
Charlton Memorial Hospital is in Fall River. It has been helping the community since 1885. This hospital offers many health services. These include a cancer center and heart care. They also provide surgery and rehabilitation. In July 2021, the hospital opened a new heart care center. It has new equipment and updated rooms.
St. Luke's Hospital
St. Luke's Hospital is located in New Bedford. It was started in 1884. A kind local person named Anna M. Lumbard helped make it happen. Southcoast Health works with Boston Children's Hospital. This partnership helps care for babies. It includes the nurseries at Charlton Memorial and St. Luke's.
Tobey Hospital
Tobey Hospital is in Wareham. It was founded in 1938. The hospital is named after Alice Tobey Jones. She left money in her will to help build it. Tobey Hospital has been serving its community since 1940. In August 2014, a new Urgent Care building opened nearby. It helps people get quick medical attention.
