The Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region is a large area in Ethiopia. People often call it SNNPR for short. It is one of the ten regional states in the country. The main city and capital of SNNPR is Awasa.

About the SNNPR
The SNNPR is a very special part of Ethiopia. It is known for having many different groups of people. These groups have their own unique cultures, languages, and traditions.
Where is the SNNPR located?
The SNNPR is in the southwestern part of Ethiopia. It shares borders with other regions of Ethiopia. The region is home to beautiful landscapes, including parts of the Ethiopian Highlands.
How big is the SNNPR?
The SNNPR covers a large area of land. It is about 105,887 square kilometers (40,883 square miles). In 2017, more than 19 million people lived there. This makes it one of the most populated regions in Ethiopia.
