The fairgrounds are a busy place all year round. They host many different kinds of shows and events. For example, the fairgrounds are home to the Southern New Mexico Fair itself. They also host the National FFA Organization FFA Livestock Show. Another big event is the Turquoise Prorodeo Circuit Finales. Many other exciting things happen there too.

When you visit the fair, there's so much to explore! You can usually find about 75 different amusement rides. These rides offer thrills and excitement for everyone. There are also around 110 food booths. Here you can try all sorts of yummy fair treats. Plus, you can check out about 300 commercial sales booths. These booths sell many interesting items.

The Southern New Mexico State Fair has been around for a long time. It started way back in 1966. In 2020, the fair had to be postponed. This was because of a worldwide health situation. So, the 55th fair was held in 2021 instead.
