Stephanie Edwards (born May 13, 1975), known as Sparkle, is an American R&B singer. She started her music journey in 1998. Sparkle is famous for her 1998 hit song "Be Careful".

Sparkle's Music Career

Sparkle began singing in her family's gospel music group. She met singer R. Kelly in 1989. Sparkle was the first artist to release a successful album on Kelly's Rockland label.

Her first album, called Sparkle, came out on May 19, 1998. This album was very popular! It reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart. It also hit No. 2 on the R&B charts. The album quickly sold enough copies to be certified gold.

The most well-known song from this album was "Be Careful." This song was a duet with R. Kelly. It became a big hit in 1998. The song reached No. 3 on the Rhythmic Top 40 chart. It was also No. 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B Airplay for six weeks. In the UK, it reached No. 7.

After her first album's success, Sparkle decided to move to a new record label. She signed with Motown Records. There, she released her second album, Told You So, in 2000. This album did not become as popular as her first one. It reached No. 121 on the Billboard 200. However, it did have a minor hit song called "It's a Fact." On August 13, 2012, Sparkle released a music video for her song "So Bad."

Working with Other Artists

Sparkle has worked with many other musicians. She sang background vocals for Aaliyah on her album Age Ain't Nothing but a Number. She also worked with R. Kelly on his album R.
