Museum of Fine Art

The Spelman College Museum of Fine Art is a special art museum. It is located on the campus of Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. This museum is unique because it focuses on art made by and about women. These women are often from the African diaspora, which means they have African heritage.

Before 2025, the museum was in the Camille O. Hanks Cosby Academic Center. This building was named after Camille Cosby, who supported the college. Her two daughters went to Spelman College. In 2025, the museum grew much bigger. It moved into a new building called the Center for Innovation & the Arts. This new building cost $96 million to build.

The museum shows art by many talented Black women artists. Some of these artists include Amy Sherald, Harmonia Rosales, and Mickalene Thomas. Other artists featured are Beverly Buchanan, Zanele Muholi, and Reneé Stout. The museum changes its art displays often. Every few months, it features a brand new exhibit for visitors to enjoy.
