Springhill, Missouri facts for kids
Springhill is a small place in Livingston County, Missouri, in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town does.
The Story of Springhill
Springhill has an interesting past! It first started in the 1830s and was known by a different name: Navestown. A person named Jesse Nave opened a store there, and the place was named after him.
Later, the name changed to Springhill. This new name came from the natural springs (small streams of water coming from the ground) that were close to where the community began.
There was even a post office there! It opened in 1838 and was first called "Naves Store." In 1849, its name changed to "Spring Hill." However, the post office eventually closed its doors in 1901.
