Sri Yukteswar is famous for being one of the people shown on the cover of The Beatles' well-known album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. He also became widely known because he was the guru of Paramahansa Yogananda, who wrote the popular book "Autobiography of a Yogi."

Life and Teachings

Sri Yukteswar Giri taught a special kind of yoga called Kriya Yoga. This yoga focuses on certain breathing and meditation techniques to help people connect with their inner selves and understand spiritual truths. He believed that all religions share similar basic truths, even if they seem different on the surface. He taught that people should try to find the common ideas that unite different faiths.

Early Life and Education
