Stéphane Rolland is a famous French fashion designer. He creates amazing haute couture fashion, which means very special, custom-made clothes. Stéphane grew up seeing many black-and-white photos because his mother worked at a famous photo studio in Paris. This helped him learn about shapes, shadows, and how things look different with light and dark. He often says that his designs are all about "contrast, volume, and movement."

Stéphane Rolland's Fashion Journey

Stéphane Rolland started his fashion career very young. He joined the famous fashion house Balenciaga when he was just 20 years old.

Becoming a Creative Director

Within a year at Balenciaga, Stéphane was promoted! He became the Creative Director for menswear and international licenses. This meant he was in charge of designing men's clothes and managing how the brand was used around the world.

Starting His Own Brand

At 24, Stéphane decided to start his own fashion company. He created "prêt-à-porter" clothes, which are ready-to-wear clothes sold in stores. He ran his own company for six years.

Designing for Jean-Louis Scherrer

After running his own company, Stéphane was asked to become the artistic designer for another well-known haute couture fashion house, which used to belong to Jean-Louis Scherrer. He worked there for ten years, creating beautiful, high-fashion designs.
