St Salvator's Chapel is a historic church that is part of the famous University of St Andrews in Scotland. It is one of two main chapels for the university. The other is St Leonard's Chapel.

The chapel was founded way back in 1450 by a man named Bishop James Kennedy. It was built in a beautiful style called Late Gothic. The name St Salvator is a special name for Jesus Christ, who is also known as the Saviour.

Over the centuries, the chapel has been renovated several times to keep it in great shape. Today, it is the main chapel for the university. It is a busy and important place for both students and the public.

Church Services and Traditions

Regular services are held at the chapel. Many students and local people attend the popular Sunday services. After the service, students take part in a famous tradition called the "pier walk." They walk together in their red academic gowns from the chapel to the town's pier and back.

The chapel also hosts special events. These include graduation ceremonies and weddings for people who used to be students at the university.

The Chapel Choir

The chapel has its own amazing choir, called The St Salvator's Chapel Choir. The choir sings during most of the services, filling the historic building with music.
