Stained Glass (puzzle) facts for kids
Stained Glass is a cool logic puzzle where you figure out patterns, made by a company called Nikoli. It's like solving a mystery with shapes and colors!
How to Play Stained Glass
This puzzle is played on a grid with lines going up and down, side to side, and even diagonally. Where these lines cross, you'll see small circles. These circles can be empty (white), half-filled (grey), or completely dark (black).
Understanding the Circles
Each circle gives you a clue about the shapes touching it:
- An empty (white) circle means there are more empty shapes around it than shaded ones.
- A grey circle means there are an equal number of empty and shaded shapes touching it.
- A dark (black) circle means there are more shaded shapes around it than empty ones.
Your goal is to shade the correct shapes on the grid. You need to make sure that every circle's clue matches the shapes next to it.
Tips for Solving Stained Glass
Solving Stained Glass puzzles can be tricky, but here are some helpful tips:
- If a white or black circle only touches one or two shapes, you know exactly what those shapes should be. For example, if a black circle touches just one shape, that shape must be shaded!
- When you have a grey circle, it means there's a balance of shaded and unshaded shapes. If you figure out what half of the shapes around a grey circle are, you can often guess what the other half must be.
