Stanisław Kazimierz Nagy was an important Polish leader in the Roman Catholic Church. He was a member of a special group called the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. He became a cardinal, which is a very high rank in the Church. Cardinal Nagy was known for his work in theology, which is the study of religious faith. Early Life and Education

Stanisław Kazimierz Nagy was born on September 30, 1921. His hometown was Bieruń, which is in Poland. His father was from Hungary, and his mother was Polish.

Joining the Priests of the Sacred Heart

When he was 16 years old, in 1937, Stanisław decided to join the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This group is also known as the Dehonians. He studied hard and became a priest in 1945.

His Work as a Professor

After becoming a priest, Nagy worked in different places. He was a rector in Kraków-Płaszów and in Tarnów. A rector is like a leader or head of a religious house or school. He also became a professor at the Catholic University of Lublin. There, he taught about theology and other important subjects.

This was a very special moment for him. He was given the title of Cardinal-Deacon of Santa Maria della Scala, which is a church in Rome.
