Stanley Lucas lived a very long life, from 1900 to 2010. He was from Britain. When he passed away, he was the oldest man in Europe. He was also the third-oldest man in the whole world!

Stanley Lucas: A Long Life

Stanley Lucas was born on January 15, 1900. His birthplace was a village called Morwenstow in England. He had two brothers and two sisters.

Moving and Marriage

In 1908, when Stanley was eight years old, his family moved. They went to live in another village named Marhamchurch. Stanley lived there for many years, until 1948. In 1926, Stanley married Ivy Nancekivell. After they got married, Stanley took over his family's farm.

Life as a Farmer

Stanley was a farmer who raised animals. He bred special types of cows called Devon cattle. He also raised Devon longwool sheep. In the early 1940s, he started a dairy farm. This meant he produced milk and other dairy products.

Community Work

In 1948, Stanley moved again. He went to live with his family in Poughill. He continued to live there even after his wife, Ivy, passed away in 1963. Stanley was also involved in his local community. He was a member of the Bude Town Council. He served on the council from 1959 to 1970. During this time, he also held the position of vice chairman.

His daughter once said that Stanley worked very hard throughout his life. She added that he was well cared for in his later years. Stanley Lucas passed away on June 21, 2010, in Bude, England. He was 110 years old.
