Steven Tweed is a former Scottish football player and manager. He was born on August 8, 1972. Steven played as a defender for many different teams.

He started his career in Scotland with Hibernian. He played over 100 games for them. Later, he played for teams in Greece, England, and Germany. He even played in Japan for Yokohama FC. Steven finished his playing career back in Scotland. He also spent two years as a manager for Montrose.

Steven Tweed's Football Journey

Steven Tweed was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. He began his football career at Hibernian in the 1991–92 season. He quickly became a regular player for the team. He played 126 games for Hibernian and scored five goals.

In 1995, Steven played for the Scotland B team twice. They won both games against Northern Ireland and Sweden.

Playing Abroad

In 1996, Steven moved to Greece to play for Ionikos. He only played two games there before returning to the UK. In 1997, he joined Stoke City in England. He played 44 matches for them.

After Stoke City, Steven went back to Scotland. He joined Dundee in 1998 and played there for three seasons. In 2001, he moved abroad again. This time, he played for MSV Duisburg in Germany.

After two seasons in Germany, Steven moved to Japan in 2004. He joined Yokohama FC and played there for three seasons.

Return to Scotland

In 2006, Steven returned to Scotland. He played for Livingston for one season. Then, in 2007, he moved to East Fife. He first joined them on loan and then signed permanently.

Becoming a Manager

In January 2009, Steven Tweed became the player-manager for Montrose. This meant he was both a player and the team's coach. In his first season, Montrose almost made it to the play-offs.

During the 2009–10 season, Steven brought in 12 new players. He had help from assistant coach Jim Moffatt and goalkeeping coach Tony Bullock. Montrose had a tough start but had a good run in the Scottish Cup. They eventually lost to his old team, Hibernian. Steven even won the SFL Manager of the Month award in March 2010.

He left Montrose in March 2011 because of his work and family. Later that year, in June 2011, Steven joined Broughty Athletic, a Scottish junior football club. He stayed there until December 2011.

Family Connections

Steven Tweed has a famous family member in football. He is the nephew of Tommy Walker. Tommy Walker was a legendary player for Hearts, another big Scottish football club.
