Early Life and College Basketball
Stewart Granger grew up in Montreal, Canada. For high school, he moved to Brooklyn, New York, USA. He played basketball at Nazareth Regional High School. In 1979, Granger helped his team win the New York State high school finals.
After high school, Granger played college basketball at Villanova University. During his time there, he averaged 10.4 points and 4.8 assists per game. These numbers show he was a strong player who could score and help his teammates score.
NBA Career Highlights
In the 1983 NBA draft, Stewart Granger was chosen by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was the 24th player picked overall.
Playing for NBA Teams
Granger started his NBA career with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1984. In his first season, he averaged 4.5 points and 2.4 assists per game.
Later, he played for the Atlanta Hawks in his second season. With the Hawks, he averaged 1.8 points and 1.3 assists per game. His final NBA season was in 1987 with the New York Knicks. During that time, he averaged 3.3 points and 1.8 assists per game.
