Sticklerville is a small, quiet place in Sullivan County, Missouri. It's called an "unincorporated community" because it doesn't have its own local government, like a city or town. Instead, it's part of the larger county.
You can find Sticklerville along Missouri Route H. It's about two miles west of another place called Mystic and Missouri Route 129. A stream named Mussel Fork flows right by the east side of the community.
Discovering Sticklerville's Past
Sticklerville was officially planned out in 1865. This means its streets and lots were mapped. It got its name from Henry Stickler, who was a local merchant. He sold goods in the area.
A post office opened in Sticklerville in 1864. This was a place where people could send and receive mail. The post office served the community for many years, closing down in 1907.
