Stokely Hathaway's Wrestling Journey
Starting in Ring of Honor (2014–2016)
Stokely Hathaway had his first wrestling match on April 18, 2014. He teamed up with Moose, but they did not win. Soon after, he joined a group called The Embassy. This group was known for being the "bad guys" (also called villains).
Hathaway started to manage other wrestlers. He used the name Ramon and famously managed Moose. He left Ring of Honor in March 2016.
Working on the Independent Scene (2016–2019)
After leaving Ring of Honor, Stokely Hathaway began working for smaller wrestling companies. These are often called the "independent circuit" or "indies." He worked for places like Beyond Wrestling.
Hathaway managed a team called "The Dream Team." This group included Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) and Faye Jackson. He also had a wrestling rivalry with Orange Cassidy.
Time in Evolve Wrestling (2016–2018)
On April 2, 2016, Stokely Hathaway joined Evolve. He started as a manager for TJP. Later, he managed Timothy Thatcher for a short time.
Hathaway then became part of a big group in Evolve called Catch Point. He continued to be a manager. He had his first match in Evolve at Evolve 110, but his team lost.
At Evolve 111, Hathaway had a special match where his career in Evolve was on the line. He lost this match, which meant he had to leave Evolve. However, he made one surprise return on September 8, 2018, for his final match there.
Adventures in Major League Wrestling (2017–2018)
In 2017, Stokely Hathaway joined Major League Wrestling (MLW). He managed a group called Black Friday Management. He managed Low Ki before MLW started showing its matches on TV.
Because Hathaway also worked for Evolve, which had its own TV deal, he had to leave MLW. This happened when MLW started its own television shows. He was written off TV by being "kidnapped." He made one brief appearance later in 2018 but did not return to MLW TV after that.
Joining WWE (2019–2022)
On March 11, 2019, WWE announced that Stokely Hathaway had joined them. He started training at the WWE Performance Center. He first managed Babatunde under the name Court Moore.
Later, he changed his name to Malcolm Bivens. He managed wrestlers like Jermaine Haley. He also managed Rinku Singh and Saurav Gurjar as "Bivens Enterprises." This story was later stopped.
He returned in December 2020, managing Tyler Rust. On June 22, 2021, Bivens and Rust joined a group called the Diamond Mine. This group also included Hachiman and Roderick Strong. Hathaway was released from WWE on April 29, 2022.
All Elite Wrestling and Return to ROH (2022–Present)
Forming The Firm (2022–2023)
Stokely Hathaway made his first appearance in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) at a big event called Double or Nothing. He showed up at the end of a match and joined Jade Cargill. This made him a "bad guy" (a heel) in AEW.
Before another big event, All Out 2022, Hathaway started asking wrestlers like Ethan Page, Lee Moriarty, and Big Bill to join him. At the event, Hathaway and his new friends attacked other wrestlers. This helped a masked wrestler, who turned out to be Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF), win a match. Hathaway and MJF had worked together before.
On September 14, Hathaway announced his group was called "The Firm." He said they were MJF's "retainer team," ready to help him. But their partnership did not last long. MJF fired Hathaway for not listening to his orders. Then, The Firm turned against MJF.
Hathaway also started a long fight with Matt Hardy. Hathaway bought the contracts of Private Party. This led to a match where if Ethan Page won, Matt Hardy would also have to join The Firm. Page won, so Hardy and Private Party joined the group.
The Firm teamed up for several months. Hathaway even had his first singles match in AEW against Hook, but he lost.
On April 12, 2023, The Firm turned on Matt Hardy and Isiah Kassidy. But Hook and a returning Jeff Hardy saved them. This led to a special "Firm Deletion" match. The Hardy Boyz, Kassidy, and Hook defeated Hathaway and his team. This match effectively ended "The Firm" group. After this, Hathaway joined the Board of Directors for Ring of Honor.
Managing Kris Statlander (2024–Present)
After working as an official in Ring of Honor, Hathaway returned to managing wrestlers in early 2024. He started working with Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale. He tried hard to get them to accept him, even running a "Give Stokely a Chance" campaign.
Their partnership became strong, and Hathaway became a "good guy" (a face). However, at Double or Nothing, after Nightingale lost a match, Hathaway seemed to scold her. Statlander then pushed Hathaway over, making it look like he was no longer their manager. But moments later, Statlander attacked Nightingale and joined Hathaway again. This showed their earlier actions were a trick, and Hathaway became a "bad guy" (a heel) once more.
At All In in August 2024, Nightingale and Tomohiro Ishii defeated Hathaway and Statlander in a mixed tag team match. After Statlander defeated Nightingale at All Out, Hathaway and Statlander went their separate ways.
