Storm Huntley was born on 24 February 1987. She is a well-known British television presenter.
Early Life and Learning
Storm Huntley's unique first name comes from two things. Her mother was reading a book where the main character had the name 'Storm'. Also, there was a big electrical storm happening outside on the day Storm was born! Her grandmother didn't like the name at first.
When she was a very young child, Storm had an accident. She accidentally poured boiling water on herself. This caused some permanent scars on her arm, shoulder, and neck. She often chooses clothes that help cover these scars.
Storm grew up in a place called Bishopbriggs, which is near Glasgow in Scotland. She went to Bishopbriggs High School. After that, she studied politics and economics at the University of Glasgow, finishing in 2008. While at university, she got involved with the student radio station, Subcity Radio, and also with hospital radio. She even spent some time in London working with a local radio company called OnFM. Later, she earned a special diploma in broadcast journalism from the London College of Communication.
Television Career
After doing some unpaid work to gain experience, Storm Huntley started working as a researcher for BBC Scotland. She became very interested in reporting the weather. To learn more, she took a short course in meteorology, which is the study of weather, with the Open University.
In June 2014, Storm joined a new TV channel called STV Glasgow. There, she presented weather forecasts and other interesting stories on their evening show, Riverside Show.
Current TV Shows
Since 2015, Storm Huntley has been part of three different shows on British TV. These include the children's show Down on the Farm on CBeebies. This show was even nominated for a BAFTA Scotland Award in 2016!
She also works on The Wright Stuff and its newer version, Jeremy Vine, both on Channel 5. These are live morning shows where people call in to discuss different topics. Storm helps by talking to the callers and introducing them to the hosts, Matthew Wright and Jeremy Vine. She also reads out messages from viewers.
Since June 2023, Storm has her own part of the show. After Jeremy Vine leaves for his radio program, Storm takes over from 11:15 AM until 12:40 PM. During this time, she continues to talk with viewers about the day's topics.
Personal Life
On 30 October 2020, Storm Huntley shared exciting news: she was engaged to Kerr Okan. Kerr is the lead singer of a rock band called The LaFontaines. They got married on 2 September 2021 by the beautiful Loch Lomond in Scotland. On 11 July 2022, Storm and Kerr welcomed their son, Otis, into the world.
