How Storm Got Her Name

Storm Huntley's first name is quite unique. Her mother was reading a book where the main character had the name Storm. Also, there was a big electrical storm happening outside on the day Storm was born. Because of this, her grandmother did not use the name for a while.

Growing Up in Scotland

When Storm was a toddler, she had an accident. She accidentally poured boiling water on herself. This caused some permanent scars on her arm, shoulder, and neck. She often chooses clothes that help cover these scars.

While at university, she worked at the student radio station, Subcity Radio. She also worked at a hospital radio station. Later, she moved to London. There, she worked with a local radio company called OnFM. She then earned a special diploma in broadcast journalism. This helped her learn how to report news for TV and radio.

Television Career

Starting in TV

After finishing her studies, Storm Huntley did some unpaid work experience. This helped her get her first job as a researcher at BBC Scotland. She became very interested in reporting the weather. To learn more, she took a short course in meteorology. Meteorology is the study of weather.
