Storyboard facts for kids

What is a Storyboard?
A storyboard is a series of drawings or pictures arranged in order. These pictures tell a story or show how a scene will look. Think of it as a detailed plan for a video project. Each drawing represents a different shot or moment in the story.
How Storyboards Help Creators
Storyboards are super helpful for many reasons. They let filmmakers and animators see their ideas on paper first. This way, they can make changes easily before spending a lot of time and money. Storyboards help everyone on the team understand the vision. They show how characters will move, what the background will look like, and even how the camera will film a scene.
The History of Storyboards
The idea of storyboarding as we know it today started at Walt Disney Productions. It was first used for the animated short film Plane Crazy in 1928. This was a big step in how animated movies were made. Later, the famous 1939 movie Gone with the Wind was the first film to be completely planned out using storyboards.
