Stull is a small community in Pennsylvania, United States. It is known as a census-designated place. This means it's an area that the United States Census Bureau has marked out for counting people. However, it does not have its own local government, unlike a city or a town. Stull is located within Noxen Township, which is part of Wyoming County.

Where Stull Is Located

Stull can be found on the Noxen U.S. Geological Survey Map. It sits at an elevation of about 591 feet (180 meters) above sea level. This community was first built to provide homes for people who worked at a sawmill nearby.

A Look Back at Stull's History

Stull was once a busy place with many people living there, sometimes as many as 500 residents! It had important services like a post office, a school, a store, and even a church.

The Sawmill's Story

The main reason Stull grew was because of its sawmill. This mill helped process wood from the surrounding forests. Sadly, the mill caught fire and burned down in 1902. It was rebuilt, but it closed for good just a few years later in 1906.

Changes Over Time

After the sawmill closed, Stull started to change. The local school, which had taught many children, closed its doors in 1912. The community then shifted from working with wood to farming. During World War I, the old parts of the sawmill were taken apart and used to help with the war effort. Today, Stull is a much quieter place, with only a few houses and residents remaining.
