Sud-Ouest is a region located in the country of Burkina Faso, which is in West Africa. It is one of 13 regions that make up Burkina Faso. The main city and capital of the Sud-Ouest region is Gaoua.
This region was officially created on July 2, 2001. It is divided into four smaller areas called provinces. These provinces help manage different parts of the region.

The Sud-Ouest region includes four important provinces. Each province has its own main town or city. These provinces are:
- Bougouriba
- Ioba
- Noumbiel
- Poni
Geography and People
The Sud-Ouest region covers a total area of about 16,153 square kilometers. This is roughly the size of a small country. In 2006, the population of the region was around 620,767 people. People in this region often work in farming and other traditional activities.
