Sujana Bai's Time as Ruler
Sujana Bai became the queen of Thanjavur in 1737 after her husband, Ekoji II, died. She ruled for about a year. During her time as queen, some people tried to take power from her.
A person named Sayyid tried to control things from behind the scenes. But Sujana Bai decided to take charge. She bravely removed a person called Katturaja who was trying to become king.
However, Katturaja did not give up. He asked for help from the French people. With their support, Katturaja attacked Thanjavur. Sujana Bai was then removed from her position as queen. After this, Katturaja became the new ruler, known as Shahuji II.
