Sukhothai is a town located in the northern part of Thailand. It's about 440 kilometers (around 273 miles) away from Bangkok, the capital city. The area of Sukhothai covers about 6,596 square kilometers (about 2,547 square miles).

Sukhothai's weather is mainly shaped by two big wind systems called monsoons: the southwest monsoon and the northeast monsoon. These monsoons bring different types of weather throughout the year.
