Susan Kelechi Watson (born November 11, 1981) is an American actress. She is famous for her acting on television. Many people know her as Beth Pearson in the popular TV show This Is Us. She also had a recurring role in the TV series Louie. For her work in This Is Us, she was nominated for a Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

Early life and education

Susan Kelechi Watson was born in Brooklyn, New York, on November 11, 1981. Her parents were born in Jamaica. Her middle name, "Kelechi," comes from the Igbo people of Nigeria. It means "Thank God."

Susan went to Howard University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Later, she studied at the Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Acting Program, where she received a Master of Fine Arts degree.

Acting career

Susan Kelechi Watson has appeared in many TV shows and plays. From 2012 to 2014, she had a regular role on the TV show Louie. She also had recurring roles in other well-known series like NCIS, The Following, and The Blacklist.

One of her most famous roles was Beth Pearson in the NBC drama series This Is Us. She starred in this show from 2016 to 2022.

In 2019, Susan acted in the movie A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. In this film, she played Andrea Vogel alongside the famous actor Tom Hanks. In September 2022, she performed in a play called Eureka Day in London at The Old Vic theatre.

Susan has also lent her voice to animated projects. She voiced Mom Twist in the TV series Ada Twist, Scientist and Maggie in the movie Rumble.
