Susan May Pratt grew up in East Lansing, Michigan. She is the younger of two daughters. Her parents are Sally and William P. Pratt. She went to East Lansing High School.
In August 2015, Susan was working on her education. She was finishing a bachelor's degree in business. She was also taking classes for a master's program. This program was in occupational therapy at the University of Southern California.
Susan married Canadian actor Kenneth Mitchell in May 2006. Kenneth Mitchell passed away in February 2024. They had two children together. Their daughter is named Lilah, and their son is named Kallum.
