Swabia is one of seven "Regierungsbezirke" in Bavaria. These are large areas that help the government organize things. Swabia is known for its beautiful landscapes and interesting history.

Swabia is divided into three main planning regions. These regions help plan for things like building new roads or schools.
Important Cities and Districts
Swabia has many important cities and districts. Some of the biggest cities you might know are Augsburg, Kempten, and Memmingen. These cities are "district-free," meaning they manage themselves and are not part of a larger rural district.
The region also has many rural districts, which are like smaller counties. Some of these include Augsburg District, Lindau, and Neu-Ulm.
Swabia's Natural Landscapes
Swabia is home to many different kinds of natural areas. You can find:
- The Nördlingen Ries, which is a huge crater made by a meteorite long ago.
- Parts of the Swabian Jura, a mountain range with cool caves and cliffs.
- The Iller-Lech Plateau, which is a flat area between two rivers.
- The Southern Alpine Foreland and Swabian-Bavarian Pre-Alps, which are areas leading up to the big mountains.
- And even parts of the Northern Limestone Alps, which are real mountains!

Swabia has grown a lot over the years. Many people have chosen to live in this beautiful region. Here's how the population has changed:
- In 1939, about 934,311 people lived in Swabia.
- By 1950, the population grew to 1,293,734 people.
- In 1970, it was 1,467,454 people.
- By 2002, the population reached 1,776,465 people.
- In 2006, there were 1,786,764 people living in Swabia.
