Swoope's full name is Lawrence Allen Swoope II. He was born in Akron, Ohio, on April 2, 1986. His mother, Diana Lynn Swoope, was a pastor at a church in Akron. His father is Lawrence Allen Swoope I.

Music Career Highlights

Swoope began his music career in 2010. He released an extended play (EP) called Applause Vol. 1. He also put out a single titled "Actions Speak Louder."

In 2011, Swoope released two more EPs. These were Spring Fling and Spring Fling Instrumentals. The next year, in 2012, he released the EP Boys R Us.

First Studio Albums

Swoope's first full-length album was "Wake Up." It came out on March 20, 2012, with Collision Records. His album Sinema was released on August 5, 2014. This album was also with Collision Records.

He also released two mixtapes on his own. These were "The Zoo" and "A.I.R.: The Abstract Intellect Revolution." After Sinema, Swoope gave fans a free EP. It was called "Because You Asked" and came out on October 10, 2014.

Later Releases and Independence

On February 5, 2016, Swoope announced he had left Collision Records. He then started releasing music independently. His album Sonshine was released on February 2, 2018.

This album was very personal for Swoope. He worked on it through different stages. He shared his feelings about depression and being a Black man in America. Eventually, he found new meaning and hope through his faith.

Swoope's song "Beauty and the Beast" gained special attention. It was chosen as the iTunes Single of the Week on August 5, 2014.
