Syd Little, whose real name is Cyril John Mead, was born on December 19, 1942. He is a famous English comedian. He was part of a comedy team called Little and Large. In this team, Syd was the "straight man" to Eddie Large. A straight man is the serious person who sets up jokes for their funny partner.

Early Life and Comedy Start
Syd Little was born in Blackpool, England. He grew up in Manchester. After school, he worked as an interior decorator. But he loved performing! He started as a singer and guitarist in pubs in Manchester. This is where he met Eddie Large.
At first, their comedy act had different names. They were called Cyril Mead and Friend, then Mead and McGinnis. They later changed their name to Little and Large. In 1971, their comedy act won a TV talent show called Opportunity Knocks. This win started their successful 20-year career on television.
TV Shows and Success
The comedy team of Little and Large made their first TV show in 1976. They then got their own regular series in 1977. Their show was very popular. They later moved their show to the BBC channel. The show ended in 1991.
After The Little and Large Show finished, Syd Little appeared on other TV programs. He was on shows like Shooting Stars. In 2005, he took part in a reality TV show called Trust Me I'm A Holiday Rep. He also appeared on The Bob Monkhouse Show and Wogan.
Recent TV Appearances
In 2015, Syd Little joined the cooking show Celebrity MasterChef on BBC One. He made it to the third round of the competition.
In 2018, he was in a documentary called The Real Marigold Hotel. The next year, he traveled to Vietnam for The Real Marigold Hotel on Tour. He has also been on Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway. Other shows include Britain's Great Double Acts and Double Acts at Christmas.
Syd also appeared in a radio advertisement for Specsavers with Eddie Large. In January 2019, Syd and Eddie were special guests at the Slapstick comedy festival. They talked about their lives and careers to a sold-out audience.
Life After Eddie Large
In April 2020, Eddie Large, Syd's comedy partner, passed away. Syd's agent released a statement from Syd. Syd said he was "devastated" to lose his comedy partner and friend of 60 years.
In 2022, Syd Little appeared on Sky UK's Celebrity Auction House. He raised over £1,000 for a new project. He sold some of his own items, including his electric guitar. He signed the guitar on both sides.
Syd Little lives in Fleetwood with his wife and son. They run a place called the Steamer Pub and Little Restaurant.
