About Syed Ali Akhtar Rizvi

Syed Ali Akhtar Rizvi was born in 1948. This was in a place called Gopalpur, in the Siwan district of Bihar, India. His father's name was Syed Mazhar Hussain Rizvi.

He had six sons and one daughter. One of his sons, Maulana Syed Shahid Jamal Rizvi, lives in Qom, Iran. His son-in-law, Syed Irfan Abbas Rizvi, is a well-known poet and writer.

Rizvi received many special titles. Some of these were Adeeb-E-Asr, Sha'oor, Mutarajjim Al-Ghadir, and Allama. The title Adeeb-E-Asr was given to him by Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi in Iran. His poetic name, which he used for his poems, was "Sha'oor Gopalpuri".

Syed Ali Akhtar Rizvi passed away on February 10, 2002. He died in his hometown of Gopalpur, in the Siwan district of Bihar, India.

Syed Ali Akhtar Rizvi's Work

Rizvi was a very busy writer. He wrote many books of his own. He also translated many books from Arabic and Persian languages into Urdu. Here are some of his important works.

Books He Translated

Rizvi helped translate a very important book called Al-Ghadir. He did this at the request of Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi. The first part of this translation came out in 1991. The full set of volumes was published in 2010. This was done by the Qur'an o itrat foundation.
