Early Life and Education
Takashi Rakuyama was born in Uozu, a city in Toyama, Japan. He attended Chukyo University before starting his professional football career.
Football Career Highlights
Starting in Japan
Rakuyama began his professional journey in 2003 with J1 League club JEF United Chiba. He quickly found opportunities to play. From 2006, he became a regular midfielder for the team. During his time there, JEF United Chiba won the J.League Cup twice, in 2005 and 2006.
In July 2008, Rakuyama moved to J2 League club Sanfrecce Hiroshima. He played as a substitute midfielder and helped the team win the 2008 season championship. This win meant Sanfrecce Hiroshima was promoted to the J1 League.
Playing Abroad
In 2010, Takashi Rakuyama moved to Russia to play for Khimki, a club in the Russian First Division.
The following year, in 2011, he moved to China. He joined Chinese Super League club Shenzhen Ruby. Even though the club was later moved down to League One, Rakuyama continued to play many matches for them until 2013. He officially retired from playing football at the end of the 2013 season.
