Taken is a Canadian documentary TV show. It was made by a company called Eagle Vision in Winnipeg. The show first aired on the Aboriginal People’s Television Network (APTN) on September 9, 2016. Later that year, it was also shown on the CBC.
The series tells the stories of Indigenous women and girls in Canada who have gone missing or been murdered. It uses reenactments to show what might have happened. The show also includes interviews with the families and friends of these women and girls. You will also hear from police, experts, and people who work to help others.
Taken wants to raise awareness about this important issue. It also encourages viewers to call the police or Crime Stoppers if they have any information about the cases. The show was created by Lisa Meeches, Kyle Irving, and Rebecca Gibson. Lisa Meeches hosts the English version, and George Muswaggon hosts the Cree version. There are currently three seasons of Taken, with a fourth season being planned.
