Takenori Hayashi (林 丈統, Hayashi Takenori, born October 14, 1980) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a forward for several clubs during his career, including JEF United Chiba and Kyoto Sanga FC.

Takenori Hayashi's Football Journey

Takenori Hayashi was born in Nara, Japan, on October 14, 1980. After finishing high school, he began his professional football career in 1999. He joined a club called JEF United Ichihara, which later became JEF United Chiba.

Early Career and Success

From his very first season, Takenori Hayashi played many matches as a forward, often coming on as a substitute. His team, JEF United, had some great seasons. They finished in third place in the J1 League in both 2001 and 2003. A big highlight for him and the team was winning the 2005 J.League Cup championship.

Moving to New Teams

In 2006, Hayashi moved to Kyoto Purple Sanga, which is now known as Kyoto Sanga FC. He continued to play many games, often as a substitute forward. In 2007, he went on loan to another club, Júbilo Iwata, for a short period. He then returned to Kyoto Sanga FC in 2008 and played many matches for them over the next two seasons.

Later Career and Retirement

In 2010, Takenori Hayashi made a return to his first club, JEF United Chiba. After that, in 2012, he had a brief experience playing for a Thai club called BEC Tero Sasana.

Later in 2012, he came back to Japan and joined Oita Trinita, a club in the J2 League. That year was special for Oita Trinita. They finished sixth in the league and qualified for the promotion playoffs. In the final match of the playoffs, Takenori Hayashi scored a winning goal in the 86th minute. This important goal helped Oita Trinita get promoted to the J1 League for the 2013 season. He retired from playing football at the end of the 2013 season.
