Tania “Chef Tania” Callaway (1952-2000) was a talented chef and caterer from Chicago, Illinois. She was known for her amazing parties and delicious food. For about ten years, starting in the 1980s, she worked as a chef at the famous Heartland Cafe.
About Chef Tania
Chef Tania was born in Chicago. She graduated from Lindbloom High School, which is now called Robert Lindblom Math & Science Academy. After high school, she went to culinary school to learn more about cooking and preparing food.
Sadly, Chef Tania had to stop working at Heartland Cafe because she developed a lung disease called sarcoidosis. She passed away in 2000 due to this illness.

In 2003, Chef Tania Callaway was recognized for her many contributions. She was honored for nearly 30 years of working in the culinary arts. She was also celebrated for helping to bring people together in the African American community through her social events, both big and small, and for her support of charities.
