Tanner, Missouri facts for kids
Tanner is a small, unincorporated community located in Scott County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. An unincorporated community is a place that doesn't have its own local government, like a city or town. Instead, it's usually managed by the county.
The Story of Tanner
Tanner got its name from an early settler named Samuel Tanner. Many communities in the United States are named after the people who first lived there or helped to establish them.
For a short time, Tanner even had its own post office. It opened in 1923 and helped people send and receive mail. However, it closed just six years later, in 1929.
