Tantei Team KZ Jiken Note (which means "Detective Team KZ's Case Notes") is a popular Japanese book series for kids. It's all about solving mysteries! The stories were written by Hitomi Fujimoto and Ryō Sumitaki, with pictures by Komagata.
The publisher, Kodansha, released 20 books in the series between 2011 and 2016. The last story came out in the Nakayoshi magazine in February 2016. This exciting series also became an anime TV show! The anime was made by Signal.MD and aired from October 7, 2015, to January 27, 2016.

Detective Team KZ Members
- Aya Tachibana (立花 彩, Tachibana Aya)
- Voiced by: Yuiko Tatsumi
- Aya is the main character of the series. Her friends sometimes call her Aaya. Before she joined Detective Team KZ, she didn't have many friends. She is careful around new people and can get shy when she's the center of attention. Aya is really good at Language arts, but Math is a bit trickier for her.
- She is the team's expert in Language. Her job is to write down all the details of their cases in her special notebook.
- Kazuomi Wakatake (若武 和臣, Wakatake Kazuomi)
- Voiced by: Sōma Saitō
- Wakatake is the star player on the Soccer Team KZ. He loves being noticed and is very proud. People call him "Wakatake the Wave" because his school grades can go up and down like waves, depending on how he feels. Even though he wants to be the center of attention, he truly cares about fairness and justice.
- Wakatake is the leader of Detective Team KZ.
- Takakazu Kuroki (黒木 貴和, Kuroki Takakazu)
- Voiced by: Takuma Terashima
- Kuroki plays soccer with Wakatake and Uesugi. He is the tallest and seems the most grown-up in Detective Team KZ. He is kind to everyone, especially girls. Aya often asks Kuroki for advice. He's also good at stopping arguments between Wakatake and Aya or Uesugi.
- Kuroki is the "Connections" expert for the team. He has friends all over the world who help him find information for their cases.
- Kazunori Uesugi (上杉 和典, Uesugi Kazunori)
- Voiced by: Kōtarō Nishiyama
- Uesugi is also on the Soccer Team KZ with Wakatake and Kuroki. He always looks calm and doesn't show much emotion. He wears glasses and is very smart. He's not always open about his feelings and can get embarrassed easily.
- Uesugi is known as "Uesugi the Number Whiz" because he is amazing at Math. He is the Analytics Expert for Detective Team KZ, meaning he's great at figuring out clues and patterns.
- Kazuhiko Kozuka (小塚 和彦, Kozuka Kazuhiko)
- Voiced by: Mitsuhiro Ichiki
- Kozuka is the only member of Detective Team KZ, besides Aya, who isn't on the soccer team because he's not very good at sports. But he's still very popular at their cram school! He is a kind person and usually has a smile on his face. He's very similar to Aya in his friendly nature.
- Kozuka is known as "Kozuka of Socials and Sciences." He's great at Science and Social Studies. For the detective team, he uses his father's lab to test any samples or evidence they find during their cases.
- Tasuku Mikado (美門 翼, Mikado Tasuku)
- Tasuku is a character who only appears in the book series. He joins Aya's class and is described as "perfect." He often wears a face mask because he has a very strong sense of smell. He is quite similar to Aya and they become good friends. He officially joins Detective Team KZ in the sixteenth book, The Red Mask Knows.

- Kakeru Sunahara (砂原 翔, Sunahara Kakeru)
- Voiced by: Yuki Kaji
- Kakeru first appears in The Egg Hamburg Steak Knows. He used to go to the same middle school as Aya. He was once on Soccer Team KZ but had to leave because of false rumors about him. People thought he was dangerous, but he's actually a kind person. The rumors started when he tried to help his father's business.
- Sunahara has a strong sense of justice. He returns later in The Valentine Knows and acts cold towards Aya to protect her from a gang he joined. He joined the group to find proof of their crimes and get back money his uncle lost. He leaves again but promises Aya they will meet again. In the anime, he is treated like a member of Detective Team KZ, even though he isn't officially one in the books.
