Tasha Thomas (born around 1945 – died November 8, 1984) was an American singer and actress. She was famous for playing Aunt Em in the first Broadway show of The Wiz. Tasha also had a popular song called "Shoot Me (With Your Love)". This song was from her 1979 album, Midnight Rendezvous. It's sometimes said she was born in "Jeutyn, Alaska," but that town doesn't actually exist.

Tasha Thomas's Music Journey
Tasha Thomas became well-known when she got the part of Aunt Em in the original Broadway musical The Wiz. People really loved her singing on the show's cast album. She sang a powerful song called "The Feeling We Once Had."
In 1972, Tasha sang backup for Jim Croce's first album, You Don't Mess Around With Jim. She also sang on Slade's 1976 album Nobody's Fools. Tasha even provided backup vocals for the band Kiss on their 1977 album Love Gun. She was one of the "KISSettes."
In 1978, Tasha's singing skills caught the attention of producers James R. Glaser and Peter Rugile. They signed her to their company, Orbit Record Productions. Her first song released on their label was "Shoot Me (With Your Love)." This song became a big dance hit around the world. Because the song was so popular, the producers worked with Atlantic Records. This helped Tasha finish her first solo album called Midnight Rendezvous.
Her album Midnight Rendezvous came out in 1979. The song "Shoot Me (With Your Love)" was the biggest hit from this album.

After "Shoot Me (With Your Love)" became a success, Tasha Thomas was often invited to appear on TV. She was a guest on music and talk shows. These included Don Kirshner's Rock Concert and Soul Train. She also appeared on The Merv Griffin Show and The Midnight Special. Tasha was also seen on Dance Fever.
