Tauren Gabriel Wells is a talented singer and pastor from Houston, Texas. He is known for his Christian music, which includes pop, hip hop, and R&B styles. Before becoming a solo artist, Tauren was the lead singer for a Christian band called Royal Tailor.

After his band broke up in 2015, Tauren started his solo career. He released an EP (a short album) called Undefeated EP in 2016. Then, in 2017, he released his first full album, Hills and Valleys. This album and its main song, "Hills and Valleys", were nominated for Grammy Awards in 2018. Another song from the album, "Known", became very popular. It reached the top of the Billboard Christian Airplay chart. It was also nominated for a Top Christian Song award in 2019.

Tauren's second album, Citizen of Heaven, came out in 2020. This album and his song "Famous For (I Believe)" were nominated for Grammys in 2021. Tauren Wells' Music Journey

Tauren Wells felt a calling to serve God when he was just sixteen years old. In 2004, he helped start the band Royal Tailor. He formed the band with DJ Cox and Blake Hubbard while they were in college. Jarred Ingram joined them later. Tauren also toured with another Christian band, Casting Crowns, in 2012.

Early Solo Success (2016–2018)

In 2016, Tauren Wells signed a deal with Reunion Records to become a solo artist. His first solo song, "Undefeated," came out in May. It featured the rapper KB. This song was even used in a "World Records Edition" video by Dude Perfect on YouTube.

He released his second song, "Love Is Action," in August. His first EP, Undefeated EP, followed in September 2016. "Love Is Action" was a number one hit on Christian radio for nine weeks!

In January 2017, Tauren released "Hills and Valleys." This song became very popular, reaching high spots on Christian music charts. His first full album, also called Hills and Valleys, was released digitally in June 2017. A physical CD version came out in July. Another song from the album, "When We Pray," was released in October and also did well.

Tauren was featured on Crowder's song "All My Hope." This song became Tauren's first number one hit on the Christian Airplay chart. In 2017, he even got to open shows for famous singers Lionel Richie and Mariah Carey on their "All the Hits Tour."

In 2018, Tauren was nominated for two Grammy awards for his Christian music. He also became a worship leader at Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas.

His song "Known" was released in June 2018. It became a huge hit, reaching number one on several Christian radio charts. "Known" was also nominated for a Grammy Award in 2019. It received a nomination at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards too.

New Albums and Church Work (2019–Present)

In January 2020, Tauren Wells released his second album, Citizen of Heaven. The album included songs like "Like You Love Me" and "Famous For (I Believe)". "Famous For (I Believe)" featured singer Jenn Johnson. A music video for "Millionaire (Good Like That)" was released in August, featuring Kirk Franklin. "Famous For (I Believe)" topped the Billboard Christian Airplay chart in January 2021. Both the song and the album were nominated for Grammys that year.

In March 2021, Tauren worked with R&B singer H.E.R. on a song called "Hold Us Together (Hope Mix)." He also released a live album, Citizen of Heaven LIVE, in April 2021. This album included music videos recorded at a special event in 2020.

On February 25, 2022, Tauren released "Fake It". This song featured Christian rapper Aaron Cole. It was the first song from his third album, Joy in the Morning, which came out on June 10, 2022. Other songs like "Empty" and "Come Home" were also released as singles. His third EP, Take It All Back, was released on August 18, 2023.

In April 2023, Tauren announced plans to start a church with his wife Lorna. In 2024, they launched the Church of Whitestone in Austin, Texas. They both serve as lead pastors there. Tauren also announced that he is writing a book. On November 1, 2024, he released a new song called "Making Room." This song will be the title track of his next album.

Family Life

Tauren Wells married his wife, Lorna Brittany Macey, in 2011. Before starting their own church, Tauren worked at his father-in-law's church in Houston, called Royalwood Church, until 2018.

Tauren and Lorna also started the Prisma Worship Arts School. This school helps train musicians. They have four sons together. Their oldest son, Kanaan, was born in 2013. Their second son, Lawson Mayer, was born in 2016. Navy Elliot, their third son, was born in 2018. Their fourth son, Banner Paul, was born in 2021. The family now lives in Austin, Texas.
