Tekin Akmansoy's Acting Journey
Tekin Akmansoy started his acting career in 1939. He worked in many different theaters for a long time. He was also known as a "meddah," which is a traditional Turkish storyteller. These storytellers would perform and entertain audiences with their tales.
Becoming Nuri Kantar
In 1974, Tekin Akmansoy became very famous for playing the character Nuri Kantar. This character was a clever businessman from Kayseri in the TV series Kaynanalar (which means "The Mothers-in-Law"). He played Nuri Kantar for many years. This character was so popular that he also appeared in movies related to the series.
Later Years and Special Recognition
In the 1990s, Tekin Akmansoy returned to television with new seasons of Kaynanalar. He also appeared in other TV shows like Sonradan Görmeler. In 1998, he received a very special honor. He was given the title of "State Artist." This title is a high award given to artists who have made great contributions to their country's culture and arts.
Tekin Akmansoy continued to act until 2008. He passed away on February 12, 2013, due to pneumonia. He was buried next to his wife, Meral Akmansoy, in Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.
