What Is That Pesky Rat About?
This book is told from the point of view of a rat. This rat really wants to be a pet, just like a dog or a cat. He visits some of his friends who are pets, like a chinchilla and a cat. But he finds that their lives are not quite what he expected.
The Rat's Big Idea
The rat decides to take matters into his own paws. He puts up signs asking if anyone wants a rat as a pet. He even goes to a pet store, hoping to find a family.
A New Home
Finally, an old man with poor eyesight sees the rat at the pet store. The man thinks the rat is a cat! He takes the rat home, and the rat is very happy. Even though he has to pretend to be a cat, he loves his new life as a pet. He finally has the loving home he always wanted.
